"Filmmaking is an art that you have to love, and appreciate, and crave, and even hate sometimes, but fall in love with it again. It’s different from other mediums because it’s never performed live, but the magic happens when you find those moments and preserve them on film. With story, vision, music and sound, a filmmaker has the ability to create something from nothing. The screen is my stage. Filmmaking is how I will tell stories for the rest of my life."

My name is Nicholas, but most people call me Nick. I'm a 24 year old creative guy based in New York and I've lived here all my life. My interest in creating things began at a very young age; from building forts out of refridgerator boxes to directing plays for my family at holiday parties. Like most kids, the struggle to fit in often collided with me trying to find out who I was. Thankfully, I had an art teacher who helped me discover how rewarding visual-arts could be. Soon after I was drawn to photography and film. I studied liberal arts, photography, and filmmaking at Nassau Community College and Five Towns College in Long Island where I met like-minded individuals who shared in my passion for visual art. We were provided the tools and the support to create films together. This is where I learned how to tell visual stories. This is also where I developed my strength as a filmmaker.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film/Video, my short film, The Ghost-Eye Tree, has screened at Film Festivals around the country and I've been working as an editor at an Emmy Award winning production company in New York City. I currently live in the Manhattan with my girlfriend in the beautiful and inspiring West Village.
The Ghost-Eye Tee
Based on the beloved children's book of the same name, the film draws from the story written by John Archambault and Bill Martin Jr. and the illustrations rendered by Ted Rand to blend into this 12 minute film about family, courage, and the wonder of the imagination. When quarreling siblings John and Rebecca pass a spooky tree they believe to be haunted, their imaginations take them on an unforgettable journey. The film has screened in many cities around the country.
I've had the pleasure of working for Linda Ellerbee's Production Company Lucky Duck Productions for the last two years. I'm an Editor for their nationally acclaimed news magazine show Nick News With Linda Ellerbee. I work with award-winning producers and editors to create 22 minute documnetary style shows designed for kids and tweens. A show I edited won the 2010 Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Children's Nonfiction Program. Episodes air monthly, Sundays on Nickelodeon.
